Death

KANNAPOLIS Dorothy Ilene Price Gatton, of Kannapolis, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, after a brief illness, at Tucker Hospice House. A private service will be held for the family Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Concord. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Harold Price; and her brother, Steve Price. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Benjamin Gatton; mother, Aline Guion; step-father, Brice "Butch" Guion; brother, Richard "Dickie" Price; sisters, Barbara Price and Katherine Sturdivant; daughters, Sonya Furr and Tammy Altman; sons, Michael Watts, Jerry Rowland and David Rowland; and eight grandchildren. Memorials may be made in remembrance of Dorothy to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 3005 Hospice Ln., Kannapolis, NC 28081, or hpccc.org.
