Death

LOCUST -- Deetsie Marie Ingram Harkey, 53, died July 21, 2007 at her home. She was born July 20, 1954 in Randolph County, NC and was an RN with Crown Point Family Medical. Deetsie was a Christian whose first love was Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She had a passion for serving others and helping women who were hurting. She was a wonderful wife and best friend to her husband, a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Columbia and served her community as a registered nurse for over 30 years. She was a member of Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust. She is survived by her husband, Donald Ritchie Harkey of the home; daughters, Jennie Furr and husband, Ashley and their son, Mason all of Stanfield, NC and Joanie Ruth Harkey of Locust; sisters, Deborah Shotkus and husband, Bobby of Lake Norman and Joan Ingram of Myrtle Beach, SC; and nephew, Joe Shotkus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry L. Ingram, Jr. and Thelma Shelton Ingram. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 23, 2007 at Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Patrick Womack will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home-Midland and will also meed at her home, 313 Old Hickory Road, Locust, NC.
