Death
Ms. Doris Ann Furr Gillespie, 83, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, January 13, 2020, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Ayers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. Ms. Gillespie was born April 5, 1936 in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Howard Furr and Ethel Cauble Furr. She was a member of McGill Baptist Church. Ms. Gillespie is survived by two daughters, Lori Upright and fiancé Arte Pless of Kannapolis and Cindy Ann Potts of Rockwell; son, Breck Gillespie of Concord; and two brothers, Frankie Furr of Concord and Sonny Furr of Columbia, SC.
