Death

Funeral services for Joan Haynes, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Mission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Haynes, 75, passed away Jan. 14, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mississippi on July 19, 1936, to John Wesley and Myrtice Furr Harveston. She was a graduate of Brookhaven High School. She was a bookkeeper at Brookhaven Auto Parts and a member of Mission Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Haynes was a member of Brookhaven Moose Lodge. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, C.A. Haynes; seven siblings; and a great-granddaughter, Madison. Survivors are her daughters, Sherry Haynes and Lindy Haynes; sister, Betty Montgomery; three grandchildren, Michelle King Lofton, Lacy Young and Kristal Williams; and eight great-grandchildren, Kailey, Branden, Geran, Garrett, Morgan, Cole, Lily Grace and Cash.
