Death

DARLINGTON- Rita Jean Ledbetter Griffith, age 80, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011. A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Darlington County Memory Gardens officiated by Shelly Holder and directed by Belk Funeral Home. Rita was born August 6, 1931, in Little Rock, Arkansas; she was the daughter of the late Jean Vertrice Smith Ledbetter and James Kelly Ledbetter. She was married to the late, Hoyte L. Griffith and she was preceded in death by her daughters, Ginger Griffith Furr and Katrina Griffith. She retired in 1997 from Wellman Industries in Darlington. She was a member of the Phillips Class at Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Griffith is survived by a daughter, Bridget (Allan) Holloman of Harts-ville, five grandchildren, Ashley Clark, Reed (Teniele) Blackwell, both of Darlington, Seth Blackwell of Myrtle Beach, Garrett Furr and Leanna Furr of Murrell's Inlet, and four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Haley Clark and Shelly and Laney Blackwell.
