Death
MOORESVILLE Mrs. Peggy Thompson Furr of Deal Road passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kenny Stanley and Gary Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord. Mrs. Furr was born Dec. 12, 1949 in Haymond, Ky., daughter of the late Chester and Katherine Smith Thompson. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Paul Thompson, Earnestine Baker, and Evelene Wilson. Survivors include her husband, James E. Furr; daughters, Tamela Hutto of Gold Hill, Crystal Little and Tonya Furr of Mooresville; sons, Jerry Furr of Kannapolis, Bryan Furr and Shane Furr of Mooresville; sisters, Lucy Stanley of Pound, Va., Linda Statzer of Detroit, Mich and Anna-Mae Roberts of California; brothers, Floyd Thompson of Pound, Va., Bobby Thompson of Jenkins, Ky., and Ronnie Thompson of Haymond, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
