Death

Ruth Rebecca Little Furr, age 95, of Stanfield, passed away November 18, 2011 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation of Albemarle. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church Chapel of Locust on Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. The funeral will follow in the church sanctuary at 4 p.m. Dr. Kinney Wallace will officiate and the burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home of her sister, Jewell Efird, 101 N. Ash St., Stanfield. Born September 24, 1916 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Paul Savage Little and the late Minty Jane Love Little. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Carlton Furr in 1988, sister, Pauline “Polly” Kirby and brothers; Ralph, Ray, Carl, John and Lewis Little. She is survived by sisters; Lucille Marshall of Walnut Cove, NC and Jewell Efird of Stanfield. She was a seamstress for Kiser Roth of Concord and a member of First Baptist Church of Locust. The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Locust, PO Box 159, Locust, NC 28097. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Furr family.
