She was a member of Gunsight Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending when she was able. She owned an ice cream store in Crane in 1956. When she sold it she moved to Cisco and Eastland where she operated several ice cream stores. She moved to Ranger and worked at the Frigid Queen and the sewing factory. She worked as a care giver for several years and then moved to Albany and cared for her great-granddaughter for three years. She retired and moved to Eastland where she lived until 2000 when she moved to Breckenridge where she resided until the present time. She was loved by many but most of all her family who called her "Granny". She meant so much to each of her family members and she loved them all dearly. She will be missed so much but will be remembered for all of the things she did for her family and the things she taught us that has carried over on into our lives. Her last birthday party, at age 95, was a family event and she said she enjoyed it more than any we had given her. We cherish her memory and will keep feeling her love forever.Published in Abilene Reporter-News on October 19, 2011
