Notes
Death
Brenda Kay Reavis, 64, of Chimney Rock, NC, formerly of Charlotte, NC, went to be with our Lord September 19, 2011. Mrs. Reavis was a house-keeping supervisor at The Brian Center Nursing Home for several years. She loved caring for elderly people and had a God-given love for them. Mrs. Reavis loved to write poems and songs for the Lord, her family, and friends. She was always there for you whenever she was needed. Mrs. Reavis was a wife, a mother, a nannie, a daughter, and, most of all, a true friend. It brightened her day to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she cherished her time with them. Mrs. Reavis is preceded in death by her soul mate and loving husband, Fred Reavis; son, Johnny Bachelor; mother, Priscilla Wooten; father, William Hedgcoe; brothers, Gilbert and Bobby Hedgcoe. Also sisters Martha Keziah and Brona Locklear.Others survived by Mrs. Reavis are her children, Susan Noto, Pam Furr, April Mayhew (David Lipke) of Concord, and Dean Reavis of Charlotte; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her much-loved dog Buddy. Mama, your journey here on earth is over, so rejoice with all your loved ones in heaven. We will meet you there someday. We love you and it will never be the same here without you. Nannie, we love you and we'll miss you and you are forever in our hearts. We are sending you a bunch of Jesus hugs and angel kisses. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Rd. Matthews, NC, on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.Published in Charlotte Observer on September 25, 2011
