PONTOTOC – Mildred Caldwell Wilder, 92, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. Mildred was born March 2, 1920, in Pontotoc County to Charlie and Beulah Caldwell. She married Marvin Furr Wilder on January 6, 1940. She professed Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Longview Baptist Church shortly after her marriage. Mildred was a loving Mother and Grandmother who instilled Christian values in her family. She was a talented and resourceful homemaker, skilled in cooking, sewing and quilting. She was employed in the garment industry, Ram Golf and The Pontotoc Cooperative Extension Service. Services will be held to celebrate Mrs. Wilder's life at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Longview Baptist Church, Longview, Miss. Officiating will be Longview Pastor, Rev. Tony Morrow and cousin Rev. Terry Faulkner. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery. Survivors include one brother, Clifton Caldwell of Columbus, Miss.; two sisters, Ruby Lee Dunlap of Ingomar, Miss. and Annie Loyce Stokes of Ecru, Miss.; two daughters, Martha Griffin of Tupelo, Miss, Betty Long and husband, Guy Long of Rome, Ga.; and three grandsons, Dr. Bronson Wilder Long and wife, Jeanette of Rome, Ga., Rev. Emmett A. Long and wife, Jenny of Rome, Ga., Nathan M. Long and wife, Dr. Elizabeth of Charlotte, N.C. She also leaves four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Beulah Caldwell; husband, Marvin Wilder; infant daughter, Marilyn Jeanette; two brothers, Charles and Troy Caldwell; and one sister, Estelle May. Pallbearers will be Johnny Fitzgerald of New Albany, Miss., Russell Caldwell of Columbus, Miss., Gerald May of Memphis, Tenn., Rev. Emmett Long of Rome, Ga., Dr. Bronson W. Long of Rome, Ga. and Nathan Long of Charlotte, N.C.. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Dunlap of New Albany, Theron Caldwell of Columbus, Miss. and Michael Dyer of Longview, Miss. Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Endnotes
