Death

Tuesday, November 23, 2010 — Ethel Lee Almond Morgan, age 96, of 24420 Ridgecrest Road, Locust, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at her home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. At other times the family will meet at her home. The funeral service will be in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, Albemarle on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at 4 p.m.  Rev. Larry Pittman will officiate and burial will be at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Locust, N.C.
Born in Stanly County on  Aug. 2, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Travis M. Almond and the late Lotha Elizabeth Tucker Almond.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Houston Morgan in 1990. She worked in food service at Britthaven of Piedmont and was a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and also worked at Federal Pacific. She is survived by her daughters, Soonie Morgan Huneycutt and husband David C. of Albemarle and Pinkie Morgan Furr and husband Lewis M. of Locust; and granddaughter, Morgan Autumn Huneycutt.
