Death
George Edward Haynes, 84, of Paris, Arkansas, died Monday, March 27, 2017 in Ft. Smith. He was born January 18, 1933 in Bald Knob a son of the late Elzie and Lola Haynes. George was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the masonic lodge. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and never met a stranger. He is survived by 3 children, Douglas Haynes (Ruby), Jane Hall (Dean) and Gaylynn Pitts (Jerry); 2 brothers, J.B. Haynes and Charlie Haynes; 4 sisters, Judy Rutherford, Edith Crowder, Pauline Smith and Phyllis Bryant; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Gilbert Haynes; son, Matthew Haynes; daughter, Memory Furr; siblings, Frances, Demp, Bob and Gary. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment, with masonic rites, will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.Endnotes
