Death

Mrs. Linday M. Smith, 87, of Marshville died on April 12, 2010 at the Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe. Funeral Services will be 2pm Thursday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6pm-8pm at Morgan & Son Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was married to the late John C. Smith. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Mr. Fordham Meggs and Mr. J.W. Meggs. She is survived by three son’s: Brady Smith and wife Ann of Chadbourn, Wesley Smith and wife Angela, and Alfred Smith and his wife Barbara all of Marshville. Her daughter’s: Mrs. Mary Neal Furr and husband Lance, and Marlene Love and her husband Dennis all of Marshville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mrs. Smith has 7 sister’s also surviving her: Florence Huneycutt of Marshville, Mrs. Bernice Brewer of Spartanburg, S.C., Julia Godwin of Marshville, Rachel Davis of Inman, S.C., Martha Baucom of Marshville, Janis Carroll of Wilmington and Kathryn Edwards of Marshville.
