Death
LOUIS EDWARD FORD passed into the hands of the Lord on Feb. 14, 2010 at 11:30am. Louis was born on Dec. 15, 1925 in Moss Point, Mississippi. He served proudly and honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. For 20 years Louis owned and operated his own company Ford Equipment Co. in Houston. Upon retirement Louis and Ruby made their home in Cape Royale in Coldspring, Texas. Louis always enjoyed hunting and fishing and during retirement he became an accomplished horticulturist. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Ruby Ford as well as 4 of his 6 brothers and sisters- Harold Ford, Mary Altaffer, Erlyne Campbell, Voncille Stokes all of Mississippi. He is also survived by his son Ronald Ford, grandsons Russell Ford and Brian Ford, daughter Ginny McWilliams and granddaughter Meryl McWilliams. He was preceded in death by his daughter Theresa Furr and survived by grandson Kenny Furr. He will be missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Fri. Feb. 19th. at the United Methodist Church at 1 Cemetery Rd., Coldspring, Texas 77331.Published in Houston Chronicle on February 18, 2010
