Death

Thomas Wayne Rainey , 68, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Born in Battersea, Petersburg, he was the son of Leonard S. Rainey and Rosa Butler Rainey . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Buster Rainey and Robert Rainey . He is survived by his sons, William Rainey and wife, Amy, Richard Rainey and Donald Rainey , all of Dinwiddie; brother, Willie and wife, Linda Rainey , of Chester; sister, Louise Gove of Petersburg; grandchildren, Caden Rainey , Victoria Rainey , Brittney Rainey and Johnathan Rainey of Dinwiddie; great-grandchild, David Martin; former employer, Louis Henshaw; and devoted friends, Mike Pope and Rhonda Langford. He will be missed. Special thanks to Hospice of Virginia, especially Joyce Lynch and Linda Smith. Cremation services will be handled through the Cremation Society of Virginia.
