Notes
Death
D. LATRIECE HARPER Latriece Harper, 88, passed into our Lord's undiluted presence December 16, 2009. Born the eldest of nine children, November 6th 1921, in Benjamin, Texas, to Eber and Thelma Rutledge, she married CB Harper in Knox City, Texas, December 9th, 1936. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 51 years, she is survived by her loving children, Anita Sue Harper Furr and her husband Ray; Virginia Lee Harper Gazlay and her husband Stephen; and Charles Bruce (Chip) Harper and his wife, Christie. She had seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A businesswoman and involved mother, Latriece was known for her work ethic and energy at business, at home or in her Faith-more than once being compared to the "Proverbs 31 woman." Retiring from business life in 1975, she became very active in Women's Aglow Fellowship--a Christian women's ministry--where she served in leadership capacities at the city, area, and state levels. She was a much-sought speaker and women's spiritual counselor, bringing a deep personal Faith and a commanding knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, along with a rock-solid West Texas common sense to nearly any situation. In her latter years, she became a familiar fixture among the parish community at All Saints, where they affectionately called her "Bubbe;" a nickname her family called her-the Yiddish term for "grandmother." A loving mother and giving, Godly woman, "Bubbe" touched thousands of lives for the Lord and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. The family will receive friends Friday, December 18, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.Published in Express-News on December 18, 2009
