Death

Hazel Ruth Littlejohn, 89, of Tyler, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Tyler. She was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Harrisburg, Ill., to the late George Smith and Blanche Cash Kent. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Overton Littlejohn; brothers, Wilbur Kent, Roy Kent and George Robert Kent; and sisters, Mildred Exum and Lorene Faulkner. Survivors include a sister, Lois Menefee of Fort Worth; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Mike Williams of Dallas and Linda and Gary Furr of Tyler; two grandchildren, Tanya Merritt and Amanda Burkham; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Littlejohn was a graduate of John Tyler High School and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 75 years. Graveside services for Mrs. Littlejohn will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Johnny Beard and Dr. Freddie L. Smith, Jr. officiating under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Monday. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Furr, Mike Williams, Brian Merritt and Danny Burkham.
