JACKSONVILLE - Barbara Furr Davis, 56, of Jacksonville died Nov. 7, 2009 in Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Family of God Community Church in Jacksonville, with the Rev. Wayne Hansley officiating. Interment will follow at the Davis Family Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Leland "Shorty" Davis Sr. of the home; son, Leland "Shorty Jr." Davis Jr. and his wife, Rebecca of Jacksonville; two daughters, Tabatha Davis and Vanessa Silance and her fiancé, Chad Andrews, all of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Lindsey Davis, Hunter Davis, Kaylee Silance and Kyler Davis, all of Jacksonville; five sisters, Mildred Eason of Wilmington, Libby Taylor of Richmond, Va., Betty Eason of Jacksonville, Joyce Hansley and her husband, Wayne of Jacksonville and Doris Baldwin of Rincon, Ga.; and two brothers, James Furr Sr. of Jacksonville and Jerry Furr and his wife, Donna of Leland. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family c/o Jones Funeral Home, 303 Chaney Ave., Jacksonville, NC 28540.
