John Marvin Colson, 67, of 38843 Quincy Road, Albemarle, died Sept. 28, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.Graveside service was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Fairview Memorial Park, with Rev. Robert Fisher officiating.There was no scheduled visitation. The family will meet at the home.Born March 30, 1942, in Norwood, he was the son of the late Robert Glenn and Ilene Lemmons Colson and was a retired carpenter, self-employed in Albemarle. He was of the Methodist faith.He is survived by his wife, Vivian Leigh Furr Colson of Albemarle; two sons, John Marvin Colson, Jr. of Norwood and Michael Glenn Colson of Albemarle; a daughter, Barbara Ann Colson of Albemarle; two sisters, Mary Jean Mauldin and Jane Cauble, both of Norwood; and two brothers, Jerry Colson and J.W. Colson, both of Norwood.Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle is serving the Colson family.
