Death

Mr. Larry Furr, age 66 of Villa Rica, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 surrounded by his family at his residence. Larry was born in Douglas County, Georgia on July 18, 1948, the son of the late Elizabeth Tolbert Furr and James Clyde Furr. Larry was known and loved by many in the community. He was Baptist by faith and a Mason. He worked at the Villa Rica Hospital for many years and later owned and operated his lawn care service. Larry has been a horseman all of his adult life. He had exceptional skills in raising, caring for and managing horses. Over the years he trained and competed throughout the state and enjoyed the rodeos. One of his favorite horses was known as “Little Anne”. Survivors include his wife, Angie Brown Furr, daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Chris Mills, Villa Rica, Georgia; son, and daughter-in-law, Lee and Bridgett Furr, Temple, Georgia, three grandchildren, Tiffany Mills, Garrett and Hannah Furr; sisters, Mary Nell Pilgrim, Villa Rica, Georgia and Jean Paton, Acworth, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Judy Furr, Temple, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane Shadix and Rev. Ollie Shadix, Dallas, Georgia; sister-in-law, Peggy Furr. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Furr. A Gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday evening, September 16, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at J. Collins Funeral Home. J.
