Death

Mrs. Ruby Dell Black Furr, age 86, of Wilkesboro, widow of Coy Furr died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Avante of Wilkesboro. Funeral services will be held 1:00, Thursday, July 16, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Blake, Pastor Eric Hagan and Pastor Robert Grant officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service. Mrs. Furr was born in Ashe County, May 10, 1923, to Jessie and Melinda Wyatt Black. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by a son, T. C. Carpenter, Jr., a sister, Georgie Oliver; two brothers, Davis Black and Carl Black. Mrs. Furr is survived by one son, Thomas Harkey of Mississippi; one sister, Maxie Miller of Ellenboro; two grandchildren, Tom Harkey and Kim Harkey both of Mississippi; two great grandchildren, Kevin Perish and Richard Perish of Mississippi.
