Death

ADA – Services for Matthew Earl Eppler, 26, Ada, are 11 a.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Norman Stanfield will officiate. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery. Mr. Eppler died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1982, at Pauls Valley to Earl Bentley Eppler Jr. and Janice Matthews-Sherbourne. He attended Francis and Byng schools. He was currently serving with the Army National Guard and had served one year in Iraq. He married Erica Veronia John July 7, 2007, at Ada. Survivors include his wife, Erica Veronica Eppler, of the home; a son, Stryder Lee Eppler, of the home; a daughter, Nixie Noel Eppler; his parents, Janice and Bryan Sherbourne, Ada; three sisters, Haley Miller and husband Troy, Ada, Chelsea Furr, Ada, Sage Furr, Coalgate; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bennett and Sheila John, Ada; nephew, Tucker James Miller; niece, Carlee Soreman; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Eppler was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold "Cotton" and Maxine Matthews, Francis, Earl and Marie Eppler, Wynnewood; his biological father, Earl Bentley Eppler; and a brother, Daniel Lee Furr. Bearers are Troy Miller, Shawn smith, Russell Linton, Jared Estep, Bennett John and Tommy Epperly. A benefit account has been set up for Erica and Stryder Eppler at Citizen's Bank of Ada.
