Death
Mrs. Maude Elaine Barbee, 34, died Sunday at 5 p.m. at her home on Route 2, Stanfield following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Love's Chapel Methodist Church of which she was a member. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Ed Sides, Rev. John H. Connell, and Rev. Don Ingle. The body will lie in state in the church 30 minutes prior to the services. Mrs. Barbee is the daughter of Grover C. and Maude Hagler Furr of Stanfield. Also surviving are her husband, James Allen Barbee and five 2 brothers, Carl Furr, Colon Furr and Cecil Furr, all of Stanfield, Fred Furr of Midland and Earl Furr of Marshville.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, May 31, 1966
