Death
Paul David Hunsucker, formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away on September 26, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson, NC. Paul was born on May 9, 1925 in Concord, NC. He was the son of the late Lonnie Hunsucker and Edna Sherrill Hunsucker of Concord, NC. Paul grew up on a cotton farm with his five brothers and three sisters and was educated in Cabarrus County at Winecoff School in Concord, NC. Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy and is a U.S. Veteran in World War II, where he served in the Philippines guarding U.S. airplanes during the war. He retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg School System as a bus maintenance technician. He met the love of his life, Sally Love Hunsucker where they met in church in Concord, NC. They have been married for sixty-six wonderful years. Paul is of Baptist faith and attended Providence Baptist Church in Harrisburg, NC.Paul loved NASCAR racing, was an avid gardener and loved watching the Price is Right and listening to the radio. Over the years he developed a love to sell his wares at local flea markets in Concord, NC. where he made many friends from near and far. Those left to cherish Paul’s memories are his wife, Sally Love Hunsucker, of Lenoir, NC (formerly of Charlotte, NC), his daughter Barbara Hunsucker Davis of Lenoir, NC, a sister Sarah Hager Chiusano and husband Henry of Troutman, NC., and a brother Lonnie Hunsucker and wife Barbara, of Concord, NC, a granddaughter Jennifer Rose Davis of Lenoir, NC, his two great grandsons, Tanner Austin Scruggs and Tristan Lane Scruggs of Lenoir, NC. The life long family friend of Barbara and Jennifer Davis is Pastor Estel Osborne who is serving the family. The family will receive friends and relatives at Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday at Blue Ridge Memorial Park at 11:00 o’clock.Endnotes
