An escaped federal prisoner, apprehended in Baltimore by F. B. I. agents, was charged late yesterday with the armed robbery of Lloyd Park and the theft of $25,000 in cash. Park was bound by two armed men Saturday night at his grocery store - service station on Highway 220 south of Greensboro. The robbery was timed about 10:30 p. m. Charged in the case was Robert Lee Furr, 35, of High Point. He was placed under a $25,000 bond and will be returned to Greensboro for trial. D. S. Lee of the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department said that Furr was taken into custody on Monday by federal agents and that warrants were secured yesterday locally. None of the money stolen in the robbery has been recovered. Deputies said that the case is still very much under investigation at this time.

Death
SCOTLAND NECK — A prisoner in the Caledonia Prison near here, Robert Lee Furr, 38, of Rt. 2, Trinity, was stabbed to death Sunday afternoon by a fellow prisoner. Charged with murder in the case is Richard Allen Martin, 24, of Winston-Salem, who was serving 20 years for manslaughter. Furr died as a result of multiple stab wounds. Funeral for Furr will be 2 p.m. in Cumby Chapel in High Point with burial in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Surviving are mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Tucker of Rt. 2, Trinity; brother, the Rev. Alfred S. Furr Jr. of Summerfleld; sister, Mrs. James Harrington of Thomasville; half sisters, Mrs. Sherill Morris of Thomasville, Mrs. Dale Step, Mrs. Bonnie Ferguson and Mrs. Jerry West of Trinity; half brothers, Jerry Tucker of Trinity, Harold D.
