Death
Ann Slawson Furr, age 95 of Fort Smith born February 27, 1915 in Texas; she passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was known to all who loved her as "Meddy". Ann was baptized in the Baptist faith and was a member of Cavanaugh Baptist Church. She worked as a waitress in several restaurants in Fort Smith and food services at Southside High School. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Furr, her first husband Henry Slawson, one son Albert Slawson and his wife Jean, her parents Lacy & Julia Ann Fairchild, four brothers and three sisters, and son-in-law Royal Coker. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, May 7th 2010 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. She is survived by her daughter Nina Coker of Fort Smith, Step-son Olan Gene Furr and his wife Helen of Fort Smith, daughter-in-law Clara Slawson of Pocahontas, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 38 great, great, grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Grant Coker, Kevin Bullard, Michael Bain, Logun Bain, Ethan Coker, and Zac Coker.Endnotes
