Pauline “Polly” Tarlton Huneycutt, 87, of 656 N. Sixth St., Albemarle, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008, in Cary.Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Albemarle. The Rev. Harold McDonald officiated and burial was in Stanly Gardens of Memory.Born July 17, 1920, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Nathanial Brown and Jennie McCoy Tarlton and was a homemaker. A 1937 graduate of Oakboro High School, she was a hospital auxiliary volunteer for Stanly Regional Hospital for 35 years and an active member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle since 1942. She was a former member of the “Silver Tones,” the church senior choir. Her hobby was needlepoint and she was a loyal NC State Wolfpack basketball fan.Survivors are her daughter, Diane Huneycutt Powell and husband, Steven, of Cary; two sisters, Elizabeth Arrowood of Oakboro and Elsie Furr of Stanfield; and many nieces and nephews.The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
