Death
Oh Mama, my beautiful precious Mama, you have no idea the beautiful tapestry you've woven me into....some threads of cotton, some threads of wool, the purest of linens, the softest of cashmeres, and some of the finest silks ever known of...…...I am cut from your cloth, your beautiful cloth, and you are woven into every fiber of my being...…..you were my gift, the most precious and priceless gift ever given to me! Doris Jean McAllister Furr ran to Glory and into the arms of Jesus and Cindy and the baby on July 5, 2021 - at home - on the fam she loved - she was 80 years young. Born on August 7, 1940 to Doris and Russell McAllister on a farm in Charlotte, NC with six brothers and one sister her beautiful journey began. She started grade school at Sharon School and graduated at East Mecklenburg High School, married the love of her life, Joe Albert Furr, had two beautiful baby girls - Cynthia Jean and Sharon Rene Furr, and went on to become an executive secretary to Legal Council with Duke Power Company - now known as Duke Energy Company, for 35 years. She loved the coast and spent many a day running and playing on the beach with Joe and the girls. She had a love of travel - she, Joe, Cindy and Sharon traveled all over the United States and all over the world for years and years - seeing, living, loving, dreaming, experiencing all life had to offer. She and Joe married, September 18, 1959 and they never looked back. They had a love that would stand the test of times, was contagious, amazing, strong, faithful, and truly they were each others soul mates. She leaves behind her beautiful best friend, love of her life Joe. During their 62 years together they had two beautiful daughters - Cynthia Jean and Sharon Rene. They were her world and her world revolved around them - she sacrificed everything for her two girls with never one regret. Years later Cindy would give Jean her first and only grandbaby - a beautiful baby girl named McAllister. They were inseparable. Her life was completely full, completely perfect, completely beautiful! On April 4, 2009, Jean lost her beautiful daughter Cindy and her beautiful grandbaby Mackie - and her world would never ever be the same again. She is proceeded in death by her Mama and Daddy, four brothers, one sister, her beautiful daughter Cindy and her beautiful grandbaby - her heart and soul - McAllister. She leaves behind her soul mate and love of her life Joe - her baby girl Sharon (husband Daniel S. Brite) - along with two brothers - Andy and Roger (whom she called Dootsie). She loved them so and so many friends and family that loved her beyond words. Our hearts are broken today! There are too many to thank for all the love they gave, so just know we are ever grateful to you. But to you: Missy and Ron Jennings, Amy Pressley, Heather Henderson, Mechelle Killian, Joseline and Gonzalo, and Annette and John Freeman, we can never thank you enough for your love and for your care throughout the years - it is a debt we can never repay. Our services for mommy will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 9 am at Forest Hill Church, South Blvd. Campus (formally Ebenezer ARP) Cemetery, 6210 Old Pineville Rd., Charlotte, NC 28217. Then, from 4 to 6 pm for anyone who wants to come and be with daddy at the farm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Jean and Cindy to the Cindy Mackie Foundation at: http://cindymackiefoundation.org/donate.Endnotes
