Death

MIDLAND - Violet Robbins Haigler of Midland, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2008. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral service will follow the visitation in Midland Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Mike Lupo officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Monroe. Born April 21, 1919 in Concord, she was the daughter of the late Houston and Bessie Furr Robbins. She was educated in Cabarrus County Public schools and was a member of the First Advent Christian Church of Concord. She was a sewing machine operator for Little Mfg. Company in Concord before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley W. Haigler, daughter-in-law, Sandra Haigler, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include sons, Ted W. Haigler of Wilmington and Gary L. Haigler and wife, Lisa, of Concord; daughters, Barbara H. Berry and husband, Wylie of Mocksville, Peggy H. Barbee and husband, David, and Pamela H. Durham and husband, Mel, all of Midland; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Survivors also include sisters, Willie Beaver and husband, James, and Bessie Kempa both of Concord and one sister-in-law, Ella Eudy of Concord. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to your favorite charity or to the First Advent Christian Church, 1005 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28225. The family wishes to express its appreciation to the following care givers, Johnsie Helms, Vickie Morgan and Vera Runnels for the excellent care and love shown to our Mother.
