Death

Mary Oliver, age 71, of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, April 8 at Christian Ministries Hospice. Mrs. Oliver was born on August 27, 1936 in Newton County to the late Jonnie Powell Furr and the late Eunice Gunter Furr. She is preceded in death by husband, Royce Eugene Oliver, and sister, Sandra Lyda. Mrs. She attended Berea Christian Church. Survivors include son, Barry Oliver of Hampton; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Bill Stanley of Hampton; four grandchildren, B.J. Oliver, Lacey Oliver, Robin Crawley and her husband, Jason and Alicia Stanley; one great-granddaughter, Makala Crawley; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and James Garrett of Griffin step-brother, Lamar Long of Covington; step-sister and her husband, Annette and Stan Smith of Dublin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Betty Oliver; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 10, at 11a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Reverend Dennis Fulton and the Reverend David Fulton will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 West McIntosh Road, Griffin, is in charge of the arrangements.
