Lesa Owens Bishop Furr, 44, wife of Everette Furr, died at home on Jan. 8, 2015, in Thomasville. Mrs. Furr was born Aug. 2, 1970, in Concord and grew up in Wilkes County, the daughter of Pete and Regina Woodie. Mrs. Furr was a registered nurse and was a member of the Baptist denomination. In addition to her husband and parents, survivors include a sister, Vickie Woodie-Winkler and husband, Jason, of Wilkes County; a brother, Dr. Thomas Owens and wife, Teresa, of Mecklenburg County; and nieces and nephews. A private viewing for the family was held Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at Thomasville Funeral Home in Thomasville. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Furr’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).Endnotes
