KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be held Thursday for Novella Honeycutt Furr, 79, Concord Nursing Center, formerly of 311 Walnut St., who died Monday (Sept. 29, 1997) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after 10 months of declining health. Born June 12, 1918 in Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of the late James Adams and Pearlie Robinson Honeycutt Dulin. She spent 45 years in the weave room of Cannon Mills, Plant 4, before her retirement in 1983. She was a Baptist. Husbands William Frank Ewing and Cleveland “Speedy” Furr preceded her in death. Survivors include son James William Ewing, Gastonia; daughters Mary Lou Jones and Emma L. Hardman, both of Kannapolis; stepsons Ed and William Furr, both of Kannapolis, Tony Furr, Finger, and Dewey Furr, Sarasota, Fla.; stepdaughters Mrs. Raymell Canaday, Mrs. Dean McDonald and Mrs. Phil Drye, all of Concord; brothers Howard B. and Arda A. Honeycutt, both of Kannapolis; step-brother Hovie Dulin, Harrisburg; stepsisters Mildred Query and Leitha Russ, both of Concord, and Edna Shoe, Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. Thursday, Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Samuel Wilson, the Rev. Leonard Lindsey and the Rev. Harry Ferguson. Burial in Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
