Mae Blondina “Dean” Furr, 75, of 414 Cameron Ave. NE, Concord, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001, in NorthEast Medical Center. Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord. The Rev. Joe Smith and The Rev. Harold Davis, Jr., officiated and burial was in Stanly Gardens of Memory. Born Feb. 26, 1926, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late George T. and Pearl Plummer Raymer and was a housekeeper for Five Oaks Nursing Center. She was a member of Concord Church of the Nazarene. Her husband, James Coy Furr, preceded her in death, as did a sister, Katherine Haskins, and a brother, George V. Raymer. Her survivors include a son, David Furr of Albemarle; a daughter, Norma Jean Helms of Oakboro; five sisters, Faye Crisco, JoAnn Furr, Retha Kirby, Doris Moore and Marie Tallent, all of Concord; four grandchildren, Julie Cummings, Jeremy Furr, Bryan Helms and Jamie Helms; two stepgrandchildren, Matthew Smith and Tonya Woodall; and a great-grandchild.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, June 17, 2001
