Mildred I. Whaley, 91, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in Baytown, Texas. She was born in Branson, Missouri and graduated from college in Missouri. She married John D. Whaley February 7, 1959. She was a professional singer and music instructor. She was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Crawfordville #242, life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #4538 and Past President of the Central Florida Music Teachers Association. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harvey-Young Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Ellen Baptist Church with burial in Lake Ellen Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville, Florida. She is survived by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, John D. Whaley, daughter, Emily Furr, her parents John and Edna Spence, three brothers and one sister.
