Death
Mrs. Ella Furr Chasteen, 85, of Rt. 5, Greenwood, died Saturday at 11:55 p.m. at an Anderson hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Banks County, Ga., daughter of the late William L. and Emma Anderson Furr, and lived in Greenwood since 1930. She was a member of New Market Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Fred Hopkins and Mrs. Leo Barfield of Greenwood and Mrs. Mary Wilton of Commerce, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Ollie Hill of Maysville, Ga.; grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were to be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Harley Funeral Home by the Rev. Daniel Johnston and the Rev. James Childress. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Rufus Day, Ernest Blizzard, J. B. Buchanan, Walter Sweezy, Louis Beaube and W. W. Sellers.The Index-Journal, Greenwood, South Carolina, January 15, 1968
