Death
Robin Lynn Thomas Furr, 64, of Hampstead, NC, died Friday, March 18, 2022 at her residence. She was born on October 9, 1957 in Bluefield, VA. She is survived by her husband, Gary Furr of the home; three sons, Steven Furr (Charlotte, NC), Stephen Ball (Jacksonville, NC) and Brandon Furr (Ft Mill, SC); three daughters, Alisha Davis (Wilmington, NC), April Furr (Rock Hill, SC) and Kristen Furr (Charlotte, NC); and eleven grandchildren. Robin was a baby when she was adopted by Evelyn Thomas who was also a minister, so her early years were centered around the church. In her later years she worked in Social Services before she left Bluefield in 1995 and moved to Williamsburg, VA. She left Williamsburg in 1997 and moved to N Cumberland, VA. In 2000 she moved to Carolina Beach, NC and became a beach girl. That’s where I met Robin April 2nd, 2004. Later that year she moved to Wilmington, NC. We were married January 8th, 2005, then in 2008 we moved to Moores Landing in Hampstead, NC. She loved living on the ICW, she once told me she never wanted to move again. She loved the beach, but most of all she loved her flowers. Anyone who knew her knows that and I will always have flowers inside and outside to honor my Sunshine. A Celebration of life will be held for Robin at 573 Moores Landing Road in Hampstead on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 from 10 am until… Robin did not want a sad or somber service. Her favorite song has been, When I’m Gone Throw Me A Party by Rita Wilson, so I promised her I would throw her a party. There will also be a food truck there from 12pm until 2 pm. There will be a short memorial service for Robin held at 11am so we all can say goodbye and you are always in our heart. Special Thanks to Andrews Mortuary for making things so easy to take care of. Special thanks to Community Care Hospice, especially Robin’s Nurse, Debbie Edmundson, Social Worker, Kelsey McLaughlin, and CNA, Courtney Beck. We couldn’t have made this journey without them, Robin loved them so much and they loved her, they are special ladies. Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services in Wilmington, NC in her honor, that’s what she wanted.Endnotes
