Death
ALBEMARLE — Lloyd Eugene Plowman, 63, of 325 Knollwood Circle, died at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 28, 1989, at his home. He had been in declining health several years, but death was unexpected. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Stanly Memorial Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mitchell Cook and the Rev. Glenn Hurley. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church cemetery with full military rites by the DAV burial team. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight. Born Sept. 11, 1925, in Stanly County, Plowman was a son of the late Kemp L. and Martha Furr Plowman. He was the retired owner of Plowman Sheet Metal Co. and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lessie Harwood Plowman; a son, Terry Gene Plowman of Albemarle; three brothers, Ray Plowman of Richfield, Carl Lee Plowman of Pensacola, Fla., and James Plowman of Albemarle; and two sisters, Mrs. David (Helen Ruth) Loflin of Rockwell and Emma Jewel Wood of Albemarle.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, August 29, 1989
