Death
Mr. Donald Lee Perry, 67, a resident of 1 Conrad Street in Thomasville, died Monday evening, July 23, 2007, in the Duke University Hospital in Durham. He was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Davidson County, a son of Ervin E. Perry and Odessa Frye Perry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Thomasville Moose Lodge. Mr. Perry was employed with Stroupe Mirror Company of Thomasville with over forty years of service, receiving in 1998 the Million Mile Safe Driving Award. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed by his family, who will always cherish his memory. In addition to his father he was preceded in death brothers, Buren Perry and Colan Perry. Surviving are his wife, Janet Furr Perry of the home; daughters, Cindy Salmon and her husband Tony and Sherrie Pilkenton, both of Thomasville; his mother, Mrs. Odessa F. Perry of Thomasville; a brother, Ricky Perry and his wife Joyce of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Dustin Gallimore, Ryan Pilkenton and his wife Amy, Heather Gallimore and Caleb King; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Pilkenton and Keagan Pilkenton; and many loving friends, especially his “buddies” at The Highway Package in High Point. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 27, 2007, at 7 p.m.. in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Brian Workman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
