Death

James Edwin Blackwelder, 88, of Mount Pleasant, NC passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. James was born May 29, 1934 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Riley Blackwelder and the late Sarah Page Blackwelder. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Williams; brother, Leonard Blackwelder; and sister, Rachel Herring. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Judy Blackwelder; son, Robert Furr; daughter, Connie Blackwelder Hudson and husband Shane; daughter, Wendy Blackwelder; granddaughters, Katie Kee and Summer Hudson; sister, Sue Belk and husband Olin; and his fur babies, Keiko and Teddi Bear. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local animal shelter. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Blackwelder family.
