Death

Mrs. Mildred Langley Bowers, 78, of Vancleave died Thursday, Feb. 7, 1991, in Vancleave. Mrs. Bowers was a longtime resident of the Coast. She was a retired cosmetologist and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Marion Chapter 94, in Columbia and Antioch Baptist Church in Vancleave. Survivors include two daughters, Sammie Jean Cole of Vancleave and Mary Ann Furr of Columbia; a son, Harold Harbour of New Orleans; two brothers, J.C. Langley of Lucedale and Clarence Langley of Vancleave; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 tonight at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Columbia City Cemetery, Columbia.

Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs for Mildred Harbour Bowers, 78, of Vancleave, who died Feb. 7 following a lengthy illness. The Rev. Jimmy Hill of Columbia and the Rev. Ford of Wiggins officiated. Interment was in Columbia City Cemetery. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Bowers was born Sept. 28, 1912, the daughter of Arties and Ada Walker Langley. She resided in Columbia for several years while married to the late Dr. S.W. Harbour. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Vancleave and the Marion Chapter #94 of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one son, Harold Harbour of Violet, La; two daughters, Mary Ann Furr of Columbia and Sammie Jean Cole of Vancleave; two brothers, J.C. Langley of Lucedale and Clarence Langley of Vancleave; and five grandchildren.
