Death

James Dossie "J D" Roberts Sr, 72, of 185 Hydro Road, Mount Gilead, North Carolina died Sunday, May 19, 2002 at his home. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at McRae Cemetery with the Rev. David Kime officiating. He was a native of Montgomery County, retired owner and operator of J D's Fashions and Outlet, attended Bethel Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are his wife: Maxine Cook Roberts of the home; one son: James Dossie "Junior" Roberts, Jr of Mount Gilead; three daughters: Gwen Roberts Parker of Hurricane, West Virginia, Kay Roberts Huneycutt of Albemarle, and Carolyn Roberts Simmons of Troy; one brother: John Roberts of Silver Springs, Maryland; sisters, Mary Lee Roberts Bruton, Edna Roberts Batten and Eunice Roberts Moore, all of Troy, Maxine Roberts Robinson of Albemarle; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
