William George ALLEN

(3 May 1832 - 10 May 1880)

Ogilvie Kith & Kin Volume 14, Number 3, page 23 dated March 1996. He enlisted in Co. A of the 4th Tennessee Cavalry on 2 Nov 1862 at Nolensville. He left behind a young wife and two small children to care for the farm. While on duty at Bell Buckle on 2 Sept 1863 he was captured by the Union Forces. He was released on his oath not to take up arms against the Union again, on Christmas day 1864.
