Thursday, June 1, 2006 — Charles William Pittman, 60, of 30458 Cane Drive, Albemarle, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at his home after years of declining health. His funeral will be at 7 p.m Friday in Full Gospel Mission Church, which he attended. The Rev. Mitchell Cook will officiate and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 5, in the National Cemetery in Salisbury with full military rites by members of the Rowan Veterans Council. The family will receive friends at Full Gospel Mission Church from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the hour of service. Born Aug. 19, 1945, in Oak Hill, W. Va., he was the son of the late Rev. Wilbur Pittman and Edith Marie Pittman and was a former employee of the Stanly County Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Deloris H. Pittman; two daughters, Crystal Renee Pittman of Charlotte and Melissa Marie Furr and husband, Kevin Lee Furr, of Albemarle; three brothers, Wilbur D. Pittman of Mocksville and Earl Ray Pittman and James Paul Pittman, both of Morganton; a sister Janice Dalton of Mocksville; and a granddaughter Marien Celeste Furr. A sister, Ruth Ann Graham, preceded him in death. Stanly Funeral Home is in charge.Endnotes
