Death
Webb, Allamay Leffel(94), entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 12, 2012. She was the widow of George A. Webb. She was born May 1, 1919 in Savannah, OK. Her parents were Kirby William Leffel and Flora May Clark. Allamay was known for her family values, generosity, heartfelt laugh, baking, and gardening. Beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. Allamay set an example of devotion to family, tradition, sense of humor and hospitality. Allamay will forever live on in the hearts and memories of those who cherish her. Allamay went on to travel the globe by horseback, car, train, plane and cruise ship. Allamay enjoyed traveling by visiting seven European countries, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and coast to coast across America with the ones she loved. Her hobbies included sewing, baking(brownies), keno, and dancing. Allamay (94) is survived by her younger sister, Delores Hixon of San Tan Valley, brother Leon Leffel of Yuma. Two daughters, Norma Webb Furr of Tempe and Cheryl Webb Gieske of Gold Canyon. Five grandchildren: Rick Furr, AZ; Ken Furr, AZ; Jennifer Gieske Grimes, CA; John E. Gieske, CA; Denis Gieske, NC. Six great grandchildren, Tonya Kennedy, NC; Kristy Furr, MO; Steven Furr, AZ; Marissa Grimes, CA; Owen Grimes, CA; Conner Gieske, NC. Six great-great grandchildren: Lilly Perez, AZ; Jayden Furr, AZ; Bella Furr, AZ; Layne Kennedy, NC; Xander Putman, MO; Alixandra Furr, MO. Allamay is preceded in death by George Webb, her husband of 61 years, with whom she raised a family that now reaches across the country. With her loving family surrounding her, Allamay passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Our family relishes the memories of Allamay and the example she set. She will forever live on in our hearts and memories. She will be dearly missed by us and all who had the privilege to know her. The family would also like to thank caregivers Elma and Melvin for their tender loving care for the past six years at Summa Care. Her service is scheduled for 11 am on Saturday, March 22, at Meldrum Mortuary in Mesa. We invite all who wish to attend to join us in a celebration of her life.
