Death

Mrs. Helen Ayer Byers, age 74, of 9711 Blackwelder Road, Fort Mill, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006, at her daughter’s home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill. Born May 30, 1931 in Brunson, S.C., Mrs. Byers was a daughter of the late General Ayer and Myrtice Hollins Ayer. She was retired from Package Products after 25 years of service. Mrs. Byers attended Higher Ground Church. She enjoyed time spent with her family, talking with friends, reading, sewing, and watching sports. Surviving are her son, Alan Byers and wife Laura of Fort Mill; three daughters, Gail Parnell and husband Frank of Atkinson, N.C., and Wanda Robinson and Lori Fox Osborne and husband Eddie, all of Fort Mill; three sisters. Betty Blume and Joyce Troupe , both of Windsor, S.C. and Mary Powell of Lexington, N.C.; five grandchildren, James Furr, Michael and Michelle Robinson, Amber Fox, and Alston Osborne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Byers; a son, Roger Wayne Byers; and a grandson, Mark Furr. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home, 9711 Blackwelder Road.
