Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of May 8, 2003 issue: Visitation for Alice M. FURR, 80, was Tuesday, May 6, 2003 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home in Bull Shoals. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Illinois. Alice FURR died Saturday, May 3, 2003 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1922 at Oak Park, IL to Francis and Mildred BLOOMART. She married James Ray FURR, Sr. on September 15, 1945 at Chicago, IL. She was a Fine China Buyer for Marshall Field's Department Store. She was a resident of Bull Shoals, AR since moving from Chicago, IL in 1987. She was a Navy Veteran of WWII, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Bull Shoals. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by a son-Jim FURR of Hanover Park, IL; a sister-Virginia (Frank) STETLER; three grandchildren-Kristopher, Ryan, and Kirsten FURR of Napierville, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
