Death
Mr. Leo Eugene Treece, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Gaston Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 16, 1922, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Virgil Homer Treece and Carrie Ella Flowe Treece. Mr. Treece was a retired principal, serving 19 years at Polkville School and three years at Washington Elementary. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church and former Sunday School teacher for the adult class. Mr. Treece was a member of the United Methodist Men, Shelby Amateur Radio Club, Fallston Masonic Lodge 356, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and the Oasis Shrine Temple of Charlotte. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Bingham Treece of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Max and Elaine Treece of Charlotte and Marvin Treece of the home; a brother, Raymond Treece of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren, Zeb Treece, Amy Treece and Ben Treece. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.Endnotes
