MYRTLE BEACH | Jimmy E. Smith, 70, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 atConway Medical Center in Conway. He was born February 11, 1936 in Stanley County, N.C., a son of the late Ernest T. and Eva Furr Smith. Jimmy was a member of the Father's House church in Myrtle Beach, an avid lover of music and even played a wide variety of string instruments. He also was a member of the Healing School in Conway, but his greatest legacy was his love of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his former wife, Linda Smith Long; two sons, Chad K. Smith and his wife, Dana, and Chase K. Smith, all of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Nancy Norris and her husband, Edward, of Georgetown; and three grandchildren, Cole, Kaitlynn and Rebecca. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach. The family will also receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle, N.C. from 12:00 to 1 p.m. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Locust, N.C.
