Death
Mr. Zeke William Cardwell, 18, a resident of 5292 Old Hwy 109, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at High Point Regional Hospital. Mr. Cardwell was born August 20, 1987 in Guilford County, a son to Anthony and Sheila Furr Cardwell. A resident of Davidson County all his life, he graduated from South Davidson High School in 2005. While there, he was a member of the band and won the Semper Fidelis award. He also won the Silver Key award for Scholastic Art and Writing in 2004. He attended Woodlawn Baptist Church, was a student at Davidson County Community College, and had worked at Skippers Seafood in Thomasville. He was a special and courageous young man who touched every life he came into contact with. He was preceded in death by a brother, Shawn Cardwell, and by his maternal grandmother, Camilla Furr. Surviving are his parents of the home; a sister, Melissa Cardwell of the home; a brother, Eli Cardwell of High Point; paternal grandparents, Stancy and Ola Mae Cardwell of High Point; maternal grandfather, Guy (Pea-Nut) Furr of High Point; two aunts, Sherri Furr and Linda Staton, both of High Point; and several cousins. A funeral service was held Friday, February 24 in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Johnny Wheeles and Rev. Janet Forrest officiating. Interment followed in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Loveline @ High Point Regional Hospital, 601 N. Elm St., High Point, NC 27262.
