Death

CONCORD -- John Harvey Spears, 63, 703 Cabarrus Ave. W., died Wednesday (Nov. 5, 2003) at his home. Born Nov. 15, 1939, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Spears was a son of Johnsie Boger Spears, Concord, and the late Wade H. Spears. He was owner/operator of Spears Digging Service. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include wife Carol Mae Eudy Spears; daughters Cherie Rodenburgh, Dallas, Texas, Wendy Suzanne Spears, Brownsville, Texas, Susan Furr, Concord, Sandra Mason, Gastonia, and Priscilla Carroll, Lumberton; sons Wade H. "Skip" Spears, Columbus, Ohio, John Harvey "Sandy" Spears, Charlotte, the Rev. Terry Smith, Concord, Danny Medlin, Mount Pleasant, Marvin Carroll, Kannapolis, Mike Carroll, Holden Beach, Robert Carroll, Kannapolis, and Lynn Carroll, Kings Mountain; sisters Janice Marie Higby, McAdenville, and Gayla Spears, Concord; brother Jack Spears, Concord; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Wilkinson Funeral Home chapel, conducted by his son, the Rev. Terry Smith. Burial, Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6:30-8 tonight at the funeral home.
